The last two months have been rather hectic with the holiday rush - have to admit it. Many early mornings and late nights were spent in my studio creating, glazing and firing pieces to fulfill wholesale orders, restock retailers and stock my own shop for the holidays. It's the first year I've truly experienced this rush and pressure as a small business and artist, and it was real.
There was a point where I felt completely overwhelmed and thought I'd said "yes" to too many orders. I almost threw in my towel (especially since my toddler decided to drop his naps and wake frequently at night - talk about exhaustion). Reflecting back, I am so proud of what I accomplished in the past eight weeks and now know what is possible.
To give you an idea of what went on in my ceramic shop during this holiday season, I thought I would share some numbers with you:
+Over 400 Pottery Pieces Created - includes 200 Mugs, 65 Pinch Cups, and 30 Ornaments, 20 Tripod Dishes, and 45 Small Plates
+18 Kiln Loads Fired
+46 Ceramic Shipments and many local pick-ups
+14 Cubic Feet of Packing Peanuts Used and many boxes
+4 Retailers Restocked
+3 Large Wholesale Orders Fulfilled
As I sit here writing this blog, I am sipping a cup of tea from a ceramic mug and enjoying some holiday baking while Christmas tunes play in the background. A moment of peace between all the scurry of updating my shop for the final time of 2020, and before the packing of orders begins.
In case you are still searching for a handcrafted gift for someone special, the shop update includes a variety of beautiful ceramic mugs - everyone loves a good mug for their morning rituals of coffee or tea. Shop here if you're interested.
Thanks for your continued support and encouragement during this holiday season. It is greatly appreciated.
Love + Holiday Hustle
